''User Account Control'' or [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control|UAC]] for short is just an absurd and annoying Windows feature which may prevent automatization of some tasks. Looks like guys at Redmond never heard about [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudo|sudo]] and were forced into reinvention of wheel.

You can disable UAC either manually by following this how-to or by running the script [[windows:rigutils:windows_tuning:disableuac.bat|DisableUAC.bat]]

** STEP 1.** Open UAC settings
- Type UAC in the search box located at taskbar (or call one by pressing WIN LOGO + S)
- Click ''"Open"''

- Drag the slider down
